Press Release

Lars Lerin
June 13 – August 18, 2019

Bohman-Knäpper is pleased to present an intimate exhibition of selected works by Lars Lerin.

Lars Lerin (b. 1954) is considered one, if not the foremost of Scandinavia’s leading watercolorists. Somber depictions of desolate rural settings, scorching desert towns, taxidermy birds in tidy rows, carefully shielded behind the transparent glass of the display cases or burgeoning sunflower fields in bright yellows. No matter the content, his characteristic technical brilliance and poetical sensibility are always present.

Lars Lerin was born in 1954 in Munkfors, Sweden. He lives and works in Karlstad. Lerin received his artistic training at Valands konsthögskola (1984) and at Gerlesborgsskolan (1975). He has had several separate and group exhibitions in art museums and galleries in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Germany, Norway and the United States. Lars Lerin is represented in County Councils and Municipalities in Sweden and Norway.

Please note, the gallery is open by appointment only.
