The brittle, incessant tracings of the pen in the drawings by Roger Risberg, bring surrealist automatism to mind. The works give the impression of a candidness beyond intellectual considerations. Their fragile appearances aside, the delicate lines of the drawings manage to contain the sense of unsettling conflicts as well as an almost tangible energy. The apparent simplicity contrasts the, at times painful, but just as often humorous content.
