Born 1965 in Svalöv, Sweden. Lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden.

Maria Miesenberger studied at Konstfack – University College of Arts, Craft and Design, Stockholm (1991 – 1995) as well as studying sculpture at Parsons School of Design, New York (1995 - 1996). She has received several grants and awards, including Årets konstnär – Artist of the Year, Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB, Båstad, Sweden, and IASPIS Artist-in-Residence, Stockholm, Sweden. Her works have been featured in numerous solo- and group shows at museums and galleries since the early ninties. They include Inside and Out (2016), Läckö slott, Lidköping, Sweden; Moment: Maria Miesenberger (2014), Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden; Robert Mann Gallery (2003), New York, USA and Uncut (2002), Lunds Konsthall, Lund, Sweden. Her works are represented in several collections, such as, The Bonnier Group; Gerard De Geer Collection and Hasselblad Foundation.
